justice + space ii was the second in a series of conferences and workshops that I helped to organize while in graduate school. This particular conference was focused on dreaming the future of Black communities, community led design, and what a designer’s responsibility is when it comes to working in marginalized communities. We invited community organizers, professional designers, professors, artists, and high school students to dialogue together over a series of panels. In support of the over-arching theme of “dreaming” I made a series of collages around the relationship between Black people and place across the past, present, and future.
